Brodie and Brock Thoene are American authors. The duo writes historical and inspirational fiction. They were both born in Bakersfield, California, Brock in 1952 and Brodie in 1951. They met at the tender age of three.

In elementary school, Brock was one grade behind Brodie, at least at the start. But because school was so difficult for Brodie, Brock eventually caught up. Brodie’s teachers did not understand her. They thought she was lazy.

Fortunately, her parents rejected the report. They knew their daughter was a hard worker, which is why they hired a tutor. It took four difficult hours of work each day during the summer, but Brodie improved.

She was in college when she learned about her reading dyslexia. It explained the educational hurdles she had encountered throughout her life. Interestingly enough, because she had struggled to master the art of reading and writing, she became fascinated with words. This, in turn, sparked an interest in storytelling.

Brodie and Brock went on their first date in high school. During the Christmas Formal in Brodie’s senior year, the girls invited the boys to the dance. Brodie took an interest in Brock because he was so handsome.

However, they spent so much time talking that they did very little dancing. It was apparent to the pair that they liked one another. But their relationship fizzled out within a few months.

They enrolled at different colleges, and they did not see each other for the next nine months. During that period, they both chose to dedicate their lives to their Christian faith.

After reuniting for the summer, they rekindled their relationship. As published authors, they collaborate closely on every book they write.

Brodie’s writing career started early. She collaborated with Chuck Robertson on ‘The Fall Guy’ before landing a position at Batjac Productions, John Wayne’s company.

She worked as a writer and researcher. Initially, she found great joy in her role as a screenwriter. But the work was so demanding that she began to lose interest. At one point, after fighting for so long to meet various deadlines, she realized that she could no longer dedicate herself to the career.

It wouldn’t have surprised anyone if she had chosen to abandon writing altogether. But something unexpected happened. Brodie developed an interest in Israel. She wanted to write about the country’s struggles to attain statehood.

John Wayne encouraged her to pursue the topic. After a producer asked her to write a script about the day the British gave Jerusalem’s mayor the key to the city, Brodie met a woman whose husband was there when the exchange happened.

Since that day, Brodie and her husband have written numerous stories about Israel. Brock does a tremendous amount of research for the books they write.

His forces are cutting a bloody path through Vienna. He intends to conquer Czechoslovakia. Elisa knows that hers is not the only life on the line. She wants to save as many people as she can. But she also longs for John.

Bodie & Brock Thoene doesn't seem to have an upcoming book. Their newest book is Behold the Man and was released on November, 1st 2014. It is the newest book in the The Jerusalem Chronicles Series.
