Carolyn Brown is an American author that writes historical fiction and Western romance novels. Carolyn had a complicated childhood. She believes that her father was a good man but he had several problems. One of the most prominent was alcohol. The author’s stepfather was also an alcoholic.

Carolyn’s biological father had more than one family. Carolyn wasn’t fortunate enough to meet her half-sister before she died. But she was quite close to her full-blooded sister. She was just one of many strong women that Carolyn was fortunate enough to know.

Reading entered the author’s life at an early age. She was just five when she sparked an obsession with the written word. Once she realized that she could finally understand words and letters, the author started reading everything she could get her hands on, not just books but the words on the back of Cheerio boxes.

Once she learned to write, she started practicing the habit as well. As a budding author, Carolyn was drawn to romance. She believes that life revolves around emotions and relationships and she uses her stories to explore the themes.

She expects her ideas to resonate with readers from all backgrounds because she is convinced that love never changes. Settings and plots might change but love is always the same, and this is true for the reaction it elicits from people.

The author’s books are not quite as straightforward as people think. Carolyn endeavors to explore the different facets of the human experience, incorporating hate, laughter, anger, and every other emotion that defines human beings into her novels.

She wants to move her readers, to immerse them in the same emotions driving her heroes and heroines. The author’s success can be imputed to her worldly experience. Carolyn was 49 when she entered the publishing industry.

While she had experimented with fiction, it wasn’t until her third child came along that she started writing seriously. The child destroyed the author’s routine. Her sleeping schedule was very erratic. On occasion, Carolyne would stay up all night.

Rather than grumbling about the challenge, she used the peace and quiet to jot her ideas down in a notebook. Before long, she had a story on her hands. Unfortunately, she couldn’t find a publisher to buy it. In fact, Carolyn Brown spent twenty-five years trying and failing to get her foot through the publishing door.

It was quite a surprise when an editor finally called and revealed that she wanted to buy the author’s books. It was the big break the author had hoped for and it paved the way for a long and successful career.

Because her publishing career started so late, Carolyn found that she had a lot more time to dedicate to her craft. She does most of her writing in an office in her home. She uses a desk that her husband built.

Despite her best efforts, she can never keep her workspace tidy. While she makes notes in notebooks, Carolyn uses a computer to write her manuscripts.

The author is married. She has three children and over a dozen grandchildren, not to mention great-grandchildren.
