She learned from her father later on that she started expressing an interest in writing fiction when she was in Kindergarten. She would always cry whenever her teachers forced her to put her storybooks away. The pictures that were taken of Rimmer during those days, and in the years that followed, attest to the strength of her passion for reading and writing. In many of them, the author has a book in her arms.

While other children were drawn to games and cars, Rimmer was happiest when she was reading. Despite cultivating a satisfying career in IT, she went on to achieve her publishing dreams. Though, this took a while.

For the longest time, the author wrote for herself. She was hopeful that she would eventually publish her stories. But she had plenty of reasons to doubt her ability to attain this objective which is why she hesitated to reveal her stories to her friends and family.

Rimmer was in her mid-thirties when she finally opened the vault and allowed other people to glimpse the product of her writing talents. She credits the people in her life for supporting her efforts to become a published author.

Rimmer attempted to self-publish her work in 2012. However, she did not enjoy the process. After determining that she was better off experimenting with the traditional publishing arena, she started researching potential publishers, eventually discovering Bookouture.

She has encountered quite a few hurdles during her career. While she is highly passionate about writing, Rimmer isn’t immune to writer’s block. Though, in her case, whenever she struggles to write, it is because she doesn’t have a clear understanding of the direction or motivation of her characters.

Whenever the author encounters writer’s block, she uses it as an opportunity to revisit the big picture of her story and to refine some of her characters. Her stories have been praised for their emotional aspects.

The author does not set out to produce heavily emotional novels. But she tries to write in a manner that mimics a conversation with a friend. She believes that her readers respond to the vulnerability in her work.

Her stories are influenced by real life. Rimmer writes about the struggles she has seen in her family. She also writes about events that matter to society such as drug addiction.

Rimmer encourages aspiring authors to nurture their love for storytelling. As far as she is concerned, if you enjoy telling stories, every other technical aspect of writing can be learned and mastered.

Best Kelly Rimmer Books

Rimmer has nothing but good things to say about Bookuoture. She believes that the publisher has gone above and beyond to support her career. She couldn’t ask for a better publisher. Some of the author’s best novels include:

The Things We Cannot Say: For the longest time, the only thing that mattered to Alina was her pending marriage to Tomasz. The two had known each other for a long time and Alina couldn’t wait to become her best friend’s wife. The stories of Nazi soldiers at the border did not concern her, not when her neighbors were so quick to downplay the threat they posed.

But then the Nazi Occupation began in full earnest and the war that had been so distant became a stark reality. Once Tomasz disappeared, Alina realized that she would have a difficult time repelling all the attention the soldiers kept throwing her way.

Before I Let You Go: Lexie was tired of bailing her sister out of trouble. Annie was a drug addict and she was always disappointing her family. Lexie was running out of patience. But she couldn’t abandon Annie, not now. The woman was still battling her addiction. However, she was also pregnant and she couldn’t go to the hospital.

Now Lexie is fighting to balance her responsibilities to her job with the demands associated with caring for her sister and niece. She knows that she cannot burn the candle at both ends. Her fiance is already losing patience with Annie’s antics. If Lexie isn’t careful, she could lose everything she holds dear.
