Suzanne Enoch is an American author that writes historical and contemporary romance novels. Born in California, she studied English at the University of California.

Some authors discover their callings later in life. But even as a child, Enoch knew that she wanted to write books for a living. At the time, she had her sights set on zoology. If Enoch had her way, she would have journeyed to Africa, eventually writing books about her adventures in the continent’s jungles.

But then she watched a television special that introduced her to some of the most poisonous snakes the world had ever seen, and she immediately changed her tune. The notion of writing, not about her adventures but the many snake bites she had accumulated, did not appeal to Enoch.

Fortunately, she soon realized that she could still fulfill her writing dreams despite her fears. Star Wars came out and showed Suzanne that she did not have to go on adventures to write entertaining books.

She could just as easily make up adventures without exposing herself to unnecessary harm. Initially, the author wrote romantic fantasy novels. But after a while, she wandered into the regency romance genre, where Enoch succeeded.

In the mid-2000s, she dipped her toes into romantic suspense. Enoch revealed in an interview that she enjoys writing in different genres because it rejuvenates her.
