Her mother inadvertently introduced her to the activity. At the time, the woman was trying to keep her daughter quiet in church. He gave her a pencil and paper and told her to write a story.

Once church ended, Tracie’s mother would sit and listen to the story. The author had no idea at the time that she was honing her storytelling abilities. Even though her mother used Tracie’s stories to keep her quiet, the author indulged in the activity because she wanted to get and keep her mother’s attention.

In high school, Tracie took an immediate interest in creative writing. But she had to apply for the class, and to her dismay, the author’s teacher rejected her because she supposedly lacked talent.

However, if the teacher in question was trying to discourage her, he failed miserably. If anything, the rejection strengthened the author’s determination. Rather than sitting on her laurels and trusting her gift, Tracie did research.

She read various books on writing. The author also paid closer attention to the stories she read, taking note of the elements that either pulled her in or repelled her.

Tracie believes she persevered because, even though her writing skills needed work, she was a talented storyteller. At the very least, she had a natural passion for telling stories.

Although, Tracie is not afraid to admit that doubt clouded her mind, forcing her to question whether she had any real hope of becoming a full-time writer. She credits God for opening the right doors at the right time.

Since those early days, the author has garnered a reputation for penning inspirational fiction. Tracie looks at her career as a ministry. On the one hand, she doesn’t forget to entertain her readers.

Ultimately, she wants her audience to have a good time. On the other hand, she tries to encourage her fans by sharing the gospel. Her books reveal her understanding of the practical applications of the bible.

Tracie knows that her books have impacted lives because she has received letters from people who found God and strengthened their faith by reading the author’s stories.
