Born in 1964 in Dunkirk, New York, Wendy comes from a close-knit family. A former student at SUNY Fredonia, she was always determined to pursue publishing, which is why she eventually landed positions at two bookstores when she was in college.

Once it became clear to her that she would have to move to New York City to find substantial writing work, Wendy finally migrated at the age of 21. She worked for a publishing house and an advertising agency as a book editor and account coordinator respectively before finally writing ‘Summer Lightning’.

It was her first novel. She sold it in 1991. It placed her on the path to publishing success, allowing her to become a bestselling award-winning author with dozens of novels under her belt.

If Wendy was to trace her career back to a single moment, she would probably choose the day she wrote her third-grade essay on Abraham Lincoln. Wendy was just eight at the time. Her teacher recognized her talent and encouraged her to keep writing.

That day, Wendy decided that she would become a published author. She went home and told her parents as much. She did quite a bit of writing in the years that followed, experimenting with music, poems, essays, and the like.

Wendy admits that her work was lacking at the time. Even though her teacher had praised the Abraham Lincoln essay she had written, Wendy’s attempts to get it published were met with rejection. Though, that did little to discourage her.

She used every opportunity that came her way in school to write. She contributed her talents to everything from school radio broadcasts to yearbooks. By the fifth grade, Wendy was writing novels in longhand.

She finally got a taste of the publishing life in college when a magazine (Seventeen) paid her fifteen dollars for her poem. She also did some ghostwriting before finally publishing ‘Summer Lightning’.

The book won Wendy an award but it did not open the doors she expected. ‘Summer Lightning’ was YA, and she had written it at a time when the YA paranormal genre was fading. Fortunately for Wendy, she was a gifted writer and she was more than capable of evolving to meet the demands of the market.

The writer spoke to an editor who encouraged her to experiment with adult suspense fiction. Wendy used that opportunity to write ‘Dearly Beloved’, an adult thriller, and the first of many.

Wendy’s life is quite hectic. Even though she is a wife and mother to two sons, she still finds ways of working 12-hour days. She has made numerous sacrifices where her personal life is concerned to succeed in her career. Though, she always makes time to cook and eat with her family.

Best Wendy Corsi Staub Books

Besides writing novels, Wendy actively supports the American Cancer Society. Some of the author’s best novels include:

Don’t Scream: When Rachel Lorant died, her four sorority sisters were there. They made a pact to keep the events surrounding Rachel’s death a secret. For ten years, they have honored their vow. But someone else knows their secret. It begins with a card, one that is clearly designed to remind the women of Rachel’s death.

The card is just a warm-up. The stalker starts sending them all chilling gifts. For Brynn Costello, the stakes are too high. She has two children that she will do anything to protect, even if it means facing off against a killer.

Awakening: Calla’s mother never spoke about her past, and she now knows why. Calla’s life took an unpleasant turn when her boyfriend dumped her via text. Things got much worse when her mother died. When her father’s job forced him to move to California, Calla learned that she would have to stay with her grandmother for a few weeks.

Now she knows the truth. Calla’s mother comes from a town of psychics. Once her own powers begin to blossom, Calla begins to wonder whether her mother’s death was truly an accident.
