BEST LORNE SIMPKINS BOOKS

For those readers looking to get into the “Lorne Simpkins” series by M. A. Comley, this section will help with that. It will go over the novels “Foul Justice”, “Guaranteed Justice”, and “Ultimate Justice”.

Foul Justice: This is the fourth novel in the “Lorne Simpkins” series and was released in the year 2012. Lorne Simpkins is back on the job. She is unable to get acquainted with the new partner she has been assigned, named Katy Foster (a Detective Sergeant) before they get a tragic murder case. The whole thing looks like a simply robbery that went wrong. The family of a wealthy football player dies in the same way, inside of a day, it is clear the crimes have something darker at play.

Staying focused on things is not easy, when she finds something out about her personal life that spins things for her. Tony Warner (who works as an MI6 agent and is her fiance) is working on a covert op in Afghanistan. Innocent people keep dying in her jurisdiction, and somebody must catch the killers.

Guaranteed Justice: This is the fifth novel in the “Lorne Simpkins” series and was released in the year 2012. Lorne is now retired and has started an animal rescue center with Tony, her husband. She believed that she knew what she wanted, but something is missing, something important, from her life.

It is fulfilling for her to retrain and save dogs that have been exploited in some way. A woman named Linda Carter gets raped and left in an alley, clinging to life. She is able to survive, and lives in terror due to her rapist’s last words to her; they were about her sister Fiona being the next victim on his list.

Both sisters decide they should adopt a dog that will keep watch, and contact the center. Lorne is on a home check, so she can see if both the girls and the flat they live in are able to take in a German Shepherd. While there, she sees Linda’s awful injuries. Graham Gibson (wealthy and a playboy) is the rapist, Linda knows. Police have not made an arrest.

The story is shocking and it alters her life. She chooses to become a Private Investigator, and urges the sisters to let Lorne take their case on. She does not know it at first, but there will be other victims that claim that Gibson raped them, too.

Ultimate Justice: This is the sixth novel in the “Lorne Simpkins” series and was released in the year 2013. A ship washing ashore, with dozens of bodies aboard, with some obvious signs that evil makes port in the city of London. It intrigues Lorne. She quickly learns that young and helpless women are being taken, caged up and sold off to those with a lot of money and those that are salacious.

It opens up old wounds, as she suspects that a cover up is being done by authorities that are supposed to be keeping the peace. Is she going to be able to trust the self-serving journalist that wants the human trafficking ring to be his new big story?

Her daughter gets involved in an accident that threatens her life, and it makes it hard for Lorne to focus. Lorne and her husband that once worked with MI6, Tony are going to shut the slave trade down and get the criminals brought to justice. It may mean that Lorne winds up locked in a cage of her own.
