It was a nonfiction expose, which resulted in several threats in libel suits. The Red Carpet was the first book to reveal Dr. Armand Hammer, the controversial multi-millionaire and the Chief Executive Officer of Occidental Petroleum who had worked for the Soviet Intelligence during the 1920’s. Hammer’s attorney had threated Finder with several lawsuits. However, it was proved that all the books were assertions. Nonetheless, the Red Carpet was not the only story that Finder wanted to tell. After the Moscow Club, the author then went ahead to pen down three critically acclaimed thrillers, The Zero Hour, the Extraordinary Powers, and the High Crimes. Joe was later on invited to the movie set for High Crimes and even cast for the role of a JAG Prosecutor. Paranoia was published in the year 2004, and it represented a major turning point in the author’s career since it landed in the Wall Street Journal, Publisher’s Weekly and the New-York Times bestseller’s list. It was the very first book by the author to use the corruption, conspiracy and the ruthless drive of the corporate world as the riveting plotline.
