Writing came to Henderson at a young age as she was always writing stories as a young girl. As a child, the best way that teachers could find to punish her was by taking her books away. The love of reading and stories really struck her from a young age. She started to take writing more seriously in her teenage years, but didn’t feel like she had something that was worthy of showing to publishers until she was in her thirties.
Her father was a pastor and her faith has stayed with her throughout her life. She actually still attends the church that she attended during her childhood. While she always enjoyed writing from a young age, it wasn’t her vocation at first. She went to the University of Illinois and ended up working as an engineer for a number of years. However, by 1996 she decided to try her hand at writing and was soon doing that full-time instead of her other career. She is best known for the O’Malleys and Uncommon Heroes series of books.
In the year 1988, Dee Henderson graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Illinois. For close to a decade, Sara has worked as an engineer. With that said, Dee Henderson is best known for the O’Malley series with the first two books in the series being published in the year 1999. Apart from the O’Malley series, she is also known for the Elvie Blackwell series and a number of stand-alone novels such as The Marriage Wish, God’s Gift, Unspoken, the New York Bestseller Full Disclosure and Traces of Guilt.
In her free time, Henderson enjoys painting, reading, walking around her subdivision, and spending time with her dogs.

Best Dee Henderson Books
One of the best Dee Henderson books is called Full Disclosure. The book tells of Ann Silver, the Midwest Homicide Investigator, and Paul Falcon, the FBI’s top murder cop in the midwest. The two are connected when Ann gives Paul one of her cases and she catches his attention instantly. Paul wasn’t planning on meeting someone, but there is just something about this woman and the secrets that she keeps.
The Elvie Blackwell series is one of the series that made Dee Henderson a favorite among many readers. The most appreciated books in the Elvie Blackwell series include the Traces of Guilt and Sins of the Past. In this series, we are introduced to one Gabriel Thane. Gabriel is not only the Sherriff but also a lifelong residence of Carin County Illinois.
She is committed to keep the residents safe and to uphold the law. Gabriel sets up a task force whose main purpose is to look into some of the unresolved crimes in the past. She works in conjunction with the Sheriff’s department on a number of the most troubling missing person’s case. One of the cases included the disappearance of a deputy, his wife and son.
Another series, which proved to be a huge success, is the O’Malley series. The O’Malley family consist of seven people who unfortunately are not related at all. These people were either orphaned or abandoned while they were young and then left in the same orphanage. While at the orphanage they bonded and eventually formed their own family. When everyone turned 18 years old, they each legally changed their last name.
All the O’Malley family members had exciting careers. Kate is a negotiator while Marcus is a United States Marshall. Lisa is a pathologist while Jack is a fire fighter. In this series, Dee Henderson proves that she has truly mastered the art of word smithing. She creates outstanding characters while at the same time not allowing the reader to get way with the storyline.
In line with the O’Malley series, a prequel to the series has also been released. The book was entitled Danger in the Shadows and features a character known as Sara. Due to what she has recently gone through, Sara is not only terrified, but also she cannot afford to do what she is currently doing, falling in love. Sara had started to fall in love with a professional football player, Adam Black.
She had been hiding for a very long time under witness protection. Her safety relied on staying invisible but falling in love with Adam was going to get her killed in the long run. Sara and Adam have not only had their fair share of obstacles but have also shared two common bonds, there love and trust in God. Despite the fact that the Danger in the Shadows is an inspirational book, it is going to appeal to readers who enjoy a true romantic suspense. The characters are exceedingly vivid, that you will be able to reach out and touch them.

Would love at least one more book to close out the last series. Hope Ms. Henderson is okay as it has been a long time since her last book.
I’ve just started reading your books, as I was given your name my Kathy Herman.
I think I have all her fiction books and enjoyed them all. I hope she writes again ,as she is one of the best in her field.
I was on a camping trip in a really small town. On a rainy day we couldn’t fish so we went into town to walk around some of the small stores. I’m not quite sure what drew me to pick up ‘Full Disclosure’ out of all the hundreds of other books but I did. Once I started reading it I did NOT want to put it down!!! I literally didn’t get online or do too much of anything else for a few days as I was so engaged in the book. Hands down, this was the BEST book I’ve ever read. I’d never heard of Dee Henderson beings I’d not picked up a book to read in a while but I can tell you now that I am on the hunt for ALL of her books.
