Best Jeff Lindsay Books

Darkly Dreaming Dexter: The first book that features Dexter Morgan. Dexter Morgan appears to be an average man who from time to time can be quite charming. However, underneath his veneer of graciousness, is an exceedingly dark secret, one that tends to force him to kill. Dexter is defined by an exceedingly dark past that is so damaging to his mind. To him, crime is justified, and he functions beyond the rules of the normal society. Dexter can be compared to Robin Hood because he only kills people who are bad.

The Robin Hood trait endears Dexter to his followers and also in the process offers salvation for his sins. Lindsay did manage to amalgamate this exceedingly amazing and provoking characterization with an exceedingly perfect job for a villain and a hero being one. Being a proficient in blood spatter and also working for the Miami Police Department, Dexter is presented with an opportunity to nourish his obsession. Dexter not only has access to the perpetrators but also to the records and victims as well.

Dearly Devoted Dexter: The second book, which features Dexter. In this book, a second character is introduced who not only combats Dexter but is also a police Sergeant who believes that Dexter is not the person that he portrays to be. Spending every little bit of time with his new girlfriend and her children as well; Dexter has doubts that he is going to be able to give his nemesis a second thought about his real personality.

Evil is a part of the day to day life of Dexter, and as an investigator of ghastly crime scenes, Dexter will be able to identify the culprits, though Dexter sees himself as an avenger. This is mainly because the voice which mainly whispers in Dexter’s ears to kill, also informs him that has a great reason to kill because his main job is to kill anyone who is wicked.

Dexter in the Dark: In the third book in the series, Dexter in the Dark, a more sinister character is combating for notoriety and also provided Dexter with so many questions instead of answers.
