Best Fern Michaels Books
Weekend Warriors (2003): Unlike the traditional romance books of Fern Michaels, the Weekend Warriors takes a radical departure to a life that is motivated and controlled by anger and revenge. The book tells a story of a group of women who had injustices done on them, and they decided to fight for justice rather than being passive.
The seven women contemplate their predicament and form a loose alliance to seek justice. The book is far from romance. The women do not see material things as their motivation. At the same time, they do not mind that they have limited resources. Rather, they try their best with what they have and also seek assistance when in need.
Among a number of cases that they pursue, two stand out. Mary Rutledge, a wealthy person, loses her lovely daughter in a hit and run incident with the driver claiming diplomatic immunity. In fact, it is Mary who founds the group- a form of a vigilante group that shies away from the American justice system in favor of taking things on their own hands for a quicker and a more sure justice.
Kathryn is a truck driver who was traveling with her husband in the truck. She was raped by three motorcyclists as her helpless husband watched. The group decides to circumnavigate the mainstream justice system and seek revenge for Kathryn and her husband who went through emotional strength due to the incidence.
Betrayal (2011): The book Betrayal has a thematic combination of love and revenge. It is a romantic thriller but an old-fashioned one. Kate Rocket and Alex have a simple life and a stable marriage. Alex raises golden retrievers whereas Kate does pottery and offers cooking classes. They do not have children.
However, Alex’s best friend, Don Winter has a marriage that is plainly tolerant and the couple struggles to maintain their rather expensive lifestyle.Things take a sharp turn when Sarah Winter accuses Alex of sexual assault. Kate is left emotionally drained when Alex is eventually convicted and is set to serve a prison term. She also watches the good relationship that they had with the Winters disintegrate into thin air.
During her grief, Kate starts developing a strong anger. She plans a mission to seek revenge and destroy the family of Don Winter.
Texas Rich: Texas Rich is an outstanding novel whose main plot explores the Coleman family- an extraordinary heroine who started a powerful and unique American dynasty. Billie Ames stand out in the generations of the family. Starting from the memories of war, she has always been a strong woman. In fact, she succeeds in holding the family in unity despite the fact that she is falling apart. Texas Rich is a story of heartbreak, losses, love, and betrayal.
