Best Orchard Valley Books

Orchard Valley is a trilogy of three books featuring three sisters; Valerie, Stephanie, and Norah. Valerie is the most reviewed book of the three; it was first published in 1999 and has since had fifteen editions.

Valerie # 1: Valerie Bloomfield is the eldest daughter born to David and Grace Bloomfield, of Orchard Valley. David is a widower, his wife Grace passed on four years ago, and he doesn’t have the strength to press on with life anymore. Valerie has a thriving career with a technology company in Texas, working with a vibrant entrepreneur, Rowdy Cassidy. She dreams of marrying him one day.

Valerie dashes home to Orchard Valley, Oregon, after receiving the sad news that her father, David has been taken ill with a fatal heart attack. She and her younger sisters, Stephanie and Norah, stand at his side, praying he’ll live, frightened that he may die. At a time like this, Valerie cannot think of anything else except her ailing father.

Dr. Colby Winston tends to David, and at the same time, has fallen head over heels in love with Valerie! He must be crazy to think she can respond to love at this crucial moment when her father’s health is in grave danger. And with Dr. Colby Winston! He’s a renowned specialist who enjoys living in a small-town, while Valerie is a successful entrepreneur who prefers city life. They’re complete opposites. David insists that she and Colby make a perfect couple. This idea amuses neither Valerie nor Colby. Colby apparently likes Valerie, but neither of the two thought about a long term relationship at this time.

Stephanie # 2: Stephanie Bloomfield is David Bloomfield’s second daughter. She has other fears in addition to her father’s health. She fled to Italy from Orchard Valley three years ago after a journalist; Charles Tomaselli blatantly rejected her. Stephanie’s now back home and it’s not long before Charles crawls back to unveil past battles—and rekindle old feelings. This time, will she be brave enough to stay? David seems to think so….Is he hiding something from Stephanie? Her father finally makes it back home from the hospital admission feeling better and energetic, with his children around him. Stephanie reacts to a newspaper article about her father, when she once again humiliates herself with Charles, in the hope to impress him with her self-confidence after years away from Orchard Valley. David predicts that Stephanie will marry Charles eventually…But whenever they meet, the sparks fly, and harsh words are exchanged. After a few heartaches and makeup sessions, love is in the air! Charles eventually proposes to Stephanie who gladly accepts, and they get married not long after their engagement.

Norah # 3: Norah Bloomfield is the youngest of the three sisters. She’s a nurse at the Orchard Valley Hospital and lives with her father in their family home. Rowdy Cassidy gets involved in a plane crash in an attempt to stop Valerie’s wedding; he ends up in the hospital where Norah works. Norah finds herself attracted to Cassidy who’s still in love with Valerie. In the heat of the moment, they kiss passionately, and he asks that she attends to him as his personal nurse at his Houston residence. Not long after, he wants to marry her, having given up on Valerie.

  1. If there is one book genre that “gets me” it has to be stories like this one, stories of sisterhood. From love and romantic relationships to a sick father to career troubles and everything in between, these three sisters live exciting lives that make me love them more and more with each book. Valerie is probably my favorite, but Norah holds a special place in my heart as the youngest tends to do.
