Simon R. Green books into movies:

BEST SIMON R. GREEN BOOKS:

These are two best books written by the prolific sci-fi author Simon Green, Something from the Nightside and Hex and the City.

Something from the Nightside: This is the first novel in Nightside series. The book follows the story of John Taylor who is not a professional private detective but has the knack for finding lost things. This is the reason why he has been hired to descend into the Nightside, a mysterious world in the epicenter of London where reality and fantasy share renting space and the sun never shine.

Book one in the series is a very short and exciting installment. It is short, brief and an intriguing one, the plot is brilliantly done, and the author has managed to make it fast, fun and exciting as well as keeping it short. The private detective has managed to stay out of the magical world for as long as he can remember but it is inevitable that something was going to drag him into this magical realm. The book also features some supporting casts with amazing abilities to survive everything for no reason. The author pulls all these different aspects of the characters and creates a great plot with lots of twists at an incredible pace.

Hex and the City: This is the fourth installment in Simon R. Green Nightside series. The story starts off at an auction away the butterfly of the butterfly effect. The butterfly effect is a famous name for the Chao theory which states that even the smallest actions send big ripples through the entire world thus making the present violent occurrences of coincidences. This, in other words, means that predicting the future is almost impossible since a small reaction now will influence the future.

Later in the novel, John is again attacked from the future. It is important to note that any interference to past from the future should change that future. For example, in case the future sends one butterfly, that single butterfly alone should change the future and therefore delete the future occurrence where the time travel took place in the first place.

The fourth series installment, Hex, and the City is a good urban fantasy story that is fun to read. It explores the darkest depths of Nightside with a more focus on the darker magical. John gets a new case, and it is all about Nightside. The questions that linger in his mind being, what could be its origin? Who could have started it? Does any person know the answers? This marvelous urban fantasy is great due to its incredible pace, the relatable and the scary protagonist, John Taylor and his interesting friends and associates.
